Infection in the body and use of Miswak

Ubqari Magazine - December 2012

Earlier there was no concept of dentists but since the Ummah has left the Sunnah and have started using different things like paste and brush, the dental diseases have increased and high degrees are being obtained to solve these problems.

Nowadays, bad breath is usually experienced when people converse which is really irritating for others. The reason is that people are not keeping the teeth clean and quitting the Sunnah of Miswak.

Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W) said: “Were it not that I might over-burden the Believers, I would have ordered them to use Miswak at the time of every Prayer.

Earlier there was no concept of dentists but since the Ummah has left the Sunnah and started using different things like paste and brush, the dental diseases have increased and nowadays high degrees are being obtained to solve these problems. Miswak is the complete remedy for the teeth diseases if it is used according to the sunnah of Prohet Muhammad (S.A.W.W).

Sunnah way of holding Miswak:-

These days, people are only performing the formality of Miswak instead of doing Miswak. Miswak should be held in your hand in with the little finger under it, middle fingers on it and thumb on its edge. Miswak should be used for 5 to 7 minutes. If miswak is done with closed fist then there is a danger of Bawaseer. Teeth are brushed with care but the gums are ignored. The result is bad mouth smell, bleeding from gums, moving of teeth and other diseases of mouth. Similar to the teeth, attention should be given to the gums, too. Miswak should not be done so harshly that it harms the gums or so softly that it does not have any effect on them.

If during cleaning of gums, bleeding start and mouth gets filled with blood then no need to worry, actually it’s an infection. This may temporarily make teeth hot/cold sensitive but gradually, the bleeding of gums and the sensitivity will go and gums will become pinkish. Pink color is a sign of healthy gums. Khalaal is the sunnah after having food and if not done then teeth become weak. Sometimes due to acidity and liver disorder, blisters develop in mouth and due to this, particular germs spread in mouth. For its remedy, do fresh miswak and keep rotating the saliva in the mouth for some time. Many patients have healed by this practice.

To avoid the yellowness of teeth:-

Take lemon peel, dry it, crush it and use it on teeth after mixing salt in it. IN SHA ALLAH teeth will become shiny. Or keep 3 parts salt and one part baking soda in a box and use this mixture on teeth daily for two minutes and then clean them. For bad smell recite this Darood Sharif:

 وَسَلِّمْ عَلٰی النَّبِّی الطَّاہِرِ

Recite this eleven times in one breath, mouth smell will suspend. Moreover for mouth smell, eat green coriander by crushing it with teeth. Mouth smell can also be eliminated by scrubbing fresh or dry roses on teeth.

Hazrat Ali (R.A) said that the person who will say the following after sneezing, he will never face ear-ache and gum pain:

اَلْحَمْدُ ِللہِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِیْن عَلٰی کُلِّ حَالِ

A saint said that if someone will recite the Dua told by Hazrat Ali (R.A) and touch his teeth by tongue then he will be safe from mouth diseases.

A person whose age was slight less than 100 years, used to chew sugarcane with his teeth and he said that whenever I ate sugarcane, young people admire my teeth. When somebody asked him about the strength of his teeth, he said:

“A saint has told me that while offering Witar in Isha prayer; recite the following Surahs in its rak’at and Teeth will stay safe from diseases throughout life.”

  • 1st Rakat after Surah Fatiha recite Surah An-Nasar
  • 2nd Rakat after Surah Fatiha recite Surah Lahab
  • 3rd Rakat after Surah Fatiha recite Surah Al-Ikhlas

From that day, I have adopted this method and it’s the blessing of this practice. Previously, this method was published in Ubqari as well.
